  2. 02/10: The restaurant table was booked for eight. Thirty years of marriage. Everything looked celebratory. Nothing looked at ease.
  3. 03/10: Everyone spoke at once. Silence arrived only when the food did.
  4. 04/10: The food arrived. Beautiful. Steaming. The phones appeared first. Lighting was adjusted. Smiles rehearsed.
  5. 05/10: For four perfect seconds, they became the family everyone else hoped they had. The screen clicked.
  6. THE TELL: Then the phone disappeared into a purse. The father’s smile vanished at the exact millisecond the lens moved away. Not slowly. Mechanically. Like a switch.
  7. 07/10: The daughter opened the edit screen, adjusting saturation before tasting her food. The mother smoothed a napkin over a lap that had gone completely still.
  8. 08/10: The father looked beyond his wife’s shoulder, through the glass door. Nobody argued. Nobody was unkind.
  9. 09/10: The bill arrived at ten. The father paid without reading it. At the door, they posed once more.
  10. THE MIRROR: The photograph is still on the feed. The father is still looking through the glass door. The lens has moved on. He hasn’t.
